Sad news about a death at Club Houston. For once this is not a bathhouse death due to a drug overdose. But rather a freak accident.
33 year-old Robert Fulton was celebrating Pride with his friends at Club Houston. Around 3:30 AM Fulton dove head first into the into the shallow end of the pool, which less than four feet deep. It quickly became apparent something was wrong as Fulton was unresponsive after the dive. His two friends pulled him out and called 9-11. Afterwards one of the men performed CPR.
Fulton was rushed to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. He died about four weeks later, July 26, one day shy of his 34th birthday. According to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences his death was caused by “complications of cervical spine fractures due to blunt trauma” The medical examiner ruled Fulton’s death an accident. Houston police are also treating his death as accidental.
On Sunday, friends will host a Celebration of Life and Benefit at Maribelle’s in Seabrook. The event, which includes food, raffle and silent auction, will raise funds to help pay for Fulton’s medical expenses.. If you would like to help please visit the facebook page here.
