Spa XS In Toronto Sets Rules For Re-Opening

Spa XS have just updated their website with a list of new rules one must follow (if and when they re-open)

COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death., Guests with underlying medical conditions, compromised immune systems, and senior citizens are especially vulnerable.

There is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people gather. By visiting Spa Excess, guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

The safety and well-being of our guests and staff remain Spa Excess’s top priority. Upon reopening, we will be subject to certain restrictions at the direction of health experts and government officials. Certain amenities and services may be modified, have limited availability or may remain closed.

We ask that everyone be patient as we navigate these temporary rules and restrictions.

Rules & Regulations

Staff will wear masks and gloves.

Staff have access to hand sanitizer and need to wash hands often.

Staff will disinfect each room after use (doorknobs inside and out, light switch, table, and locker inside and out).

Staff will disinfect washrooms (toilets, sinks).

Staff will disinfect railings on the stairs and patio lounge chairs, tables and chairs in the lounge.

Staff will disinfect key sets after each use.

Staff will disinfect locker room lockers before each use.

Staff will use UV light on debit/credit machines.

Staff will hand out condoms.

Staff will be tested for temperature and oxygen levels.

Food handling requires new gloves each time.

Food will be served on disposable dishes and glasses/cups

Tables and chairs in lounge and patio spaced to allow for social distancing.

Swing lids from garbage pails have been removed to eliminate touching.

Dry sauna and steam room will be closed.

Signatures on entry receipts not required during the pandemic.

All guests must submit to a temperature scan prior to final entry. Anyone displaying COVID-19 symptoms will be denied entry.

Randomly, customers may be asked to take a test for oxygen levels via an oximeter. This is to test for Invisible Hypoxia which can be present in asymptomatic people. If the reading is below 90 the customer will be asked if they have asthma or COPD to determine if that condition may be the cause of the low reading. The oximeters will be disinfected after each use. The test is random as we only have 3 oximeters.

Hand sanitizers are available at the front desk, exit, dark areas, locker room and second floor hallway, basement area, and all washrooms.

All Spa XS guests using the gym equipment must wipe down the equipment after each use.

We encourage customers to use tap debit or credit.

All special Spa XS events have been cancelled.

Signs are installed in each washroom reminding customers that washing with soap kills the virus. Wash genital and pubic areas well after sex.

MASKS will be provided to every customer on entry and must be worn in all common areas.

No group sex. (minimize your contacts).

As required by the Toronto Department of Health, we require first name, and either telephone # or email.
